I’m Stuart Meiklejohn. I live in Newcastle, Australia, where I work in emergency planning and write things occasionally. I started this blog to share my fears and embarrassments as I stray way beyond my comfort zone and abilities in travel and adventure. I will probably never have the talent to be great at any of my sports, and certainly don’t have the courage, but I use my limited supply of both to do what I can in the outdoors.
I am interested in the psychology of what motivates people and keeps us going, though I barely understand myself let alone anyone else.
I love running, climbing and skydiving, though I love chips, beer and ice cream even more. I have way more outdoors gear than I actually use, but still never seem to have enough. I’ve also moved so many times recently I use this blog to help keep in touch with the people I keep leaving.
